There are two pieces here.

You can't press charges for what goes on, on a rugby pitch but the police can. The law of the land doesn't stop on the edge of a rugby pitch. Would it happen, I think not.

I'm sure however Hohia could take a civil action if he wanted to. It would be open and shut.

Don't know if it would. Did Anton Ferdinand lead that or was it an off duty copper who complained and got the case going? Doesn't have to be the injured party, can be any member of the public who can raise a case for investigation. You are within your rights to go to the coppes now and say you feel you have witnessed an assault (alongwith half of a 70000 crowd) and they are duty bound to at least have a look at it.

Let the RFL deal with it. They really should be able to get this one right.
