| Quote Big Jim Slade="Big Jim Slade"Watch that Zeb Taia try again and you tell me how it's physically possible for him to have scored a legal try. Just because everybody agreed with a wrong decision doesn't make it right, categorically or otherwise.'"
You are correct sir. Unless Taia was able to pass the ball through his body cavity, he had the ball under his right arm, and it re-appeared under his left, so it was lost on the floor and regathered.
Not that it mattered as Leeds were poor anyway !

I agree that Leeds were poor, but the problem is that it did matter, it gave Catalans a foothold in a game that was in danger of getting away from them. The ref getting that wrong in the heat of the moment I can live with, but the video ref not seeing something that clear is a real problem. The way it's going it's quite possible that a Grand Final will end up being decided on a call that isn't just incorrect, but as blatantly wrong as that one, or several of those from last night. As I said before, professional full time refs and video referral's were supposed to eliminate the major blunders, but we seem to be seeing more and more of them. It's a real concern.
Edited just to add that Saints deserved their victory regardless of how it came about (though denying that most of the contentious decisions went in their favour is fruitless) and I've been very impressed with Saints all season, they've overcome a huge amount of adversity and I'd like to see them win the whole thing

| Where was this furore when the same standard of refereeing was on show for the saints versus castleford game? DP was roundly criticised and maligned as a moaner.

Difference here is that the Catalans coach didn't bitch and moan afterwards.

Because the decisions weren't as one-sided and Cas couldn't muster enough effort to score even a solitary try.

| Quote EHW="EHW" Also, given that Silverwood is from Leeds it is also highly likely that he would have preferred Saints to lose the game and Catalans to progress to the final.'" Silverwood is most definitely not from Leeds. His hilarious track record of mutual loathing with the Leeds team is quite well known, not least from when Keith Senior unsubtly let everyone know about it a bit to publicly after the shambles of the WCC back in 2010.

He had a poor game although not all of his and his team's mistakes favoured the Dragons.
But the point is still relevant that for all the wrong decisions made, the Dragons had the chance to defend them. On the whole they didn't defend them. The responsibility for the result was ultimately down to the two teams involved, and Saints were the stronger side throughout.
Every non-Saints fan wanted the Dragons to win. Sky wanted the Dragons to win. This year, it's all been about 'the story'. Well, the story is that Saints defied all the wishful thinking of the pundits and so-called neutrals and won. Not only did they win but they won comfortably.

I respect him for that and think most will.
It's when they try to justify clear mistakes that it gets my goat. Fair play to him.
