I am not too concerned with figures for two reasons.

1. There was about 6 weeks where i think there was only one top 4 v top 4 match, which would have dented the figures (top 4 in tv terms: wigan, wire, saints, leeds)

2. Football world cup would have taken some viewers/ if people watching a lot of football, less time for rugby.

I'm sure its been mentioned in the 9 page measuring contest of a thread, but Thursday games dont inspire anyone. Much prefered the Saturday early evening games to watch on Sky

Barb showing 315,000 for the Grand Final, up 14% from 2013 but the 4th lowest figure over the last 10 years. ITV 4 showed Poland v Germany soccer at the same time as the GF and they got 580,000........I'd love to see the GF showed on delay on FTA.......start it as the final whistle goes.

The NZRU do this here with the games shown Live on Pay TV and then delayed on a FTA station (owned by sky). Sky wouldn't lose any viewers but the sport would benefit from the additional exposure.

Except nobody watches they sky fta channels in this country so it would be of 0 benefit

we would be far better trying to get the magic weekend on sky 1

Sky 1 and Pick TV get roughly the same amount of viewers but I suppose it might get more prominence on Sky 1.

To be honest the only way to really reach people is to get it on either BBC, ITV, C4 or C5.
