| Quote Mild Rover="Mild Rover"14.5k in 2007 off the back of a grand final appearance in 2006 and silverware in 2005, and prior to the banking bubble going pop will remain a high water mark for a while, I fear. That was with two home SL derbies when they were still a novelty too. Hull is a decent-sized second-tier provincial city. It does well to support 3 professional 'football' teams as well as it does. I'm struggling to think of anywhere of a similar size that does... Bristol I suppose, with their City, their Rovers and the RU team. All struggling at the moment.
Hull KR, when we were averaging over 8k, worried about needing to add roughly the same number to the gate that we've now lost.
Edit - even in the RU premiership, where the fans are relatively economically cosseted (or so it is widely perceived) attendances peaked at an average of 13745 in 09-10 and have dropped steadily, down to 12175 this season.'"
Hey, stop talking sense! There's repetitive trolling to be had.

| Quote William Eve="William Eve"Hull FC's average attendance is currently 10,221 which represents a 4.80% downturn on last season for the same fixtures when the average was 10,737. Last season their attendances held up pretty well and were only 1.73% down on 2012 when the total attendance figures for SL as a whole were down by 10.40%. [uI'm of the opinion that a successful Hull FC club would comfortably average in excess of 15K[/u.'"
What kind of percentage increase would that be?

agree, even though there looked to be less than that actually in the stadium, we were saying pre match how impressive hull's support is, considering they have only 1 major trophy to their name in 30 years, imagine if they had been succesful what crowds they would get.
also thought the noise was the best i've ever heard at the KC, (although outsung for the majority by the 80 giants fans )
for a thursday night and against a team with virtually no away support it was a good effort from hull fc!

The KC is probably the best Stadium in SL (apart from its pricing policy)'"
speaking of which, got to the gate last night expecting to pay £20 as that is the price that was advertised on the official websites of both clubs to find the price was £24, i know it's "only £4" more but are clubs allowed to increase prices on the day without giving prior notice?

| Quote Chris28="Chris28"Not sure but there was a tandem chained up outside. Was their (non) attendance part of the Bentham boycott?'"
nothing to do with any boycott, as has already been stated and is well known across RL, our away support is dismal, i don't think any of us that went expected anything like a half decent following last night, but i don't think we expected it to be that bad.
our fans are notorious for giving live sky games a miss, added to the fact it was a thursday night and the team aren't winning and it was in hull, then every reason for our fans no show was there.
fwiw i thought the ones who did go were very good and backed the team well despite the awful showing, again, from our team.

Aye, they usually "look after" the away fans at The KC.
Mind you, the Galpharm (John Smiths) stadium is never cheap !

Hull are doing some deals for away fans this season but only for certain games. It was £19 for Bradford fans paying in advance.

| I think that's the key everywhere, buy in advance and it's less than on the gate.

That was a bite???
More like a reply to your increasingly boring obsession of all things red n white.
Still as Sheryl Crow would say - If it makes you happy

| Quote William Eve="William Eve"I'm only guilty of being a realist

The game tonight is absolute pants! It's so poor that it's actually amusing. Just needs the Benny Hill theme tune playing in the background to finish things off.
Rugby League in this country exhibited more professional traits during the semi-pro era '"
Rose tinted glasses, I know quite a few guys between the ages of 54 and 67, and they talk some rubbish sometimes, a lot o it is to try and make themselves feel better. A far as what happens on the field, well I've watched more form Aus during the 80' and 90's, and granted there was a bit more ad-lib football back then, but obviously because defences weren't as good. But RL will outlast RU.
It would to see more artificial pitches, and indoor stadia. As slippery conditions affects RL more than any other sport.
