| As a kiwi living in London I'd love it if there was a decent RL team to go and watch on a regular basis. However the sort of garbage the London Broncos serve up certainly isn't going to have me heading up the Jubilee Line to part with my hard earned beer vouchers to go and sit in an echoing three quarter empty stadium in Canons park to watch a park footy team cop a flogging every weekend anytime soon....and looking at the crowds they get it seems most people think the same way.
I watched the Leeds v London game last night and I can honestly say I'd never heard of more than 2 of the London players.

What about going the other way & trying to get Sky to show all their homes games on delayed transmission like Catalans? The increased media exposure would be worth far more to London than the handful it would probably take off the gate.

| Quote dubairl="dubairl"If you can't see the difference in situation then I'm sorry but its you who is coming out with bull sh*t. And how on earth you think super league would be better without of one of its top 5 teams not to mention one of the biggest fan base shows your rant amounts to nothing.
. FYI it wasn't cheating its was not within the spirit of rugby league apparently. are you still upset by last seasons challenge cup or your own team failings as this thread is about London not Wigan from 6 years ago who still had a better team than the present London one.'"
What difference? that London won't ever come close to having the fanbase that Wigan have, yeah, you got me there, your fans did still turn up in numbers.
Yet you were getting spanked left right and centre in 2006, you were a LONG way off the bottom (actually something that London aren't..ATM)
Going by your call in your ridiculous opening post my comparison is absolutely valid, Wigan should have been dropped to Div 1 & rebuilt, but no, that didn't happen because we have rules in place, something you seem not to be able to grasp.
That the London team atm is at least trying and giving it a go with their very much depleted squad/talent, but nope, the non tryers/getting battered every week Wigan of 2006 (& being battered by those right at the bottom) were given more than every opportunity, that you ended up cheating to stay up should never have happened because going by your suggestion you'd have been in Div 1 before half a dozen games had being played..
At least have some respect for a club with players that are trying, your lot in the first dozen games were completely pants, no effort at all. to have London dropped into the championship 5 games in then why on earth didn't the RFL just drop your load of no-hopers/non tryers back into the then Div One?
See, we can all come up with absolute , yours just happen to kick it off, now jog on sonny back to your own club and let London & the RFL worry about their predicament

maybe you should read the rest of my posts in this thread, your acting like i am saying it as some sort of punishment towards London when i am saying it for the exact opposite reason. And Wigan obviously won enough games to stay up so still don't see your point and we never cheated as already said, But the team didn't need rebuilding the management needed to be replaced completely different situation no matter how you try and suggest it did. Compare the wigan team of that year to London or even the clubs and obviously there is more reasons to it.
Try this is if you don't like the thread don't bother posting on it and stick to talking about some ponies ruining the grass at hull.

Some would argue that the crowds are as low as they are because when Brisbane "stole" the club from us, they "over-targeted" London's antipodean populace, a practice that continued under various owners until the Marketing, PR & Advertising simply stopped altogether, under Hughes/MacKay. No offence mate, but "fair weather fans" are the last thing we needed for a sustainable club!

The club just need FANS... 'fair weather' or not.
I look at it this way. I live in London. I hang out with people who like live sport. We would happily come along and watch a game if the product was any good. So if we did...and enjoyed the whole experience...we would tell other people...who would maybe go along and see for themselves.

| I seem to remember this sort of thread popping up on the scarlet turkey last season and once again it's the same posters saying exactly the same things.
I really couldn't understand fans with the my club is wonderful but yours shouldn't be playing mine attitude, think about it if we start throwing clubs out of the league because they are doing it tough then we end up with a big four super league and guess what even then someone will still be last.
