Definitely not getting carried away. Of course the league is a marathon and not a sprint. But I don't think it unrealistic or unreasonable to expect Widnes to challenge for a play-off position.

To be honest it is a long season, but i do feel Castleford and Widnes have stronger depth in reserve than the previous seasons. With relegation i can also see teams that are in the mix signing players on loan in desperation to stay up.This is already happening with Bradford and Wakefield getting loan players. I am not getting carried away either, and to get close to the playoffs would be an achievement. I think it is nice to see a article good about Widnes for a change.
