| Quote John Gilbert Reds="John Gilbert Reds" There's no rivalry between Swinton/Salford anymore, unfortunately.'"
There are quite a few of us older Salford supporters who would not agree with that, and if you ask Swinton supporters which team they would most like to play and beat in the cup the great majority would say Salford. (Though in another thread on this forum and others, an appeal to sign a petition for a new ground for Swinton was well supported by Salford fans).

I hate Swinton (even though I play for Folly ) and Swinton fans are so bitter and twisted towards Salford it's untrue (in fact a bit like most rugby league fans are since the Koukash takeover) There is no on field rivalry anymore, but off the field I'd still say there's something there.

| Quote Cronus="Cronus"I know exactly where it is, the Mrs went there and knew H and his (very pretty) sister. Actually, did you know the school recently moved to a new site over the East Lancs?
It's in Swinton. In Salford, granted. But still Swinton. No amount of straw clutching will change that. And as a Salford fan you should understand what that means more than most - or are you choosing to ignore that rivalry to suit on this occasion?
Aye, welcome "home" to a club you've never been part of before.'"
Out of interest do you know where HH was actually born? If you can tell us that then you can tell us exactly where he is from, stop bleating on about where he grew up, went to school etc, tell us where he was born please.

If you're not sure try Wikipedia.
It wasn't Salford.

| Black Cat, he was born in Auckland. I am afraid you made that rather easy for Cronus and I can't blame him for taking the mickey out of your quote. I understand your point that he was raised as a Salford lad and even if he was born elsewhere home is where the heart is but at least get your facts right when you are challenging someone as you make it easy for comebacks if you don't.
Cronus, the City of Salford is run from the town of Swinton. As you probably know there are several towns and hamlets that fall in Salford's boundaries and many people in these areas choose to be classified as Salfordian as the alternative is to be ultra parochial or, god forbid, be classified as a Manc.

Salford, Swinton, Manchester... It doesn't really matter - they're all holes on the wrong side of the hills!
I really like what the Dr is doing over at Salford - yeah he's no doubt circumventing the salary cap, and he's trying to buy his way to success initially, but if he's around for the long term, it can only be a good thing for Salford and the game in general. It's no different to what Moran has done at Wire and they are in great shape now. The only difference is Moran has done it alot quieter, and the Dr seems intent on enhancing the game as a whole rather than just his club.
He tweeted recently that he'd like one of his 'friends' to get involved with the Bulls - the more the merrier for me. He's adding profile to the sport, throwing money around and seems to genuinely have fallen in love with the game.

Any club that is willing to give a six figure salary for the next four years and willing to pay a transfer fee.
Good (not great) signing for Salford, ever club needs a solid workhorse in their squad and Salford now have one.

Oh how foolish of me, I cannot see any facts that you insinuate I posted or indeed that I need to get right? Posting ridiculous allegations on a forum isn't my style. Maybe you should take note.
Quote salford1970="Cronus"As for all the nauseating 'welcome home' rubbish, give over, he's a Swinton lad, went to school in Swinton, played for Folly Lane of Swinton.'"
I was hoping Cronus would clarify where HH is from and not as he previously quoted above in bold. which I can see was clearly lost in translation on salford1970. I am happy Cronus has done his research on wiki and we can hopefully end the debate on whether HH is from Swinton or Salford.

So 'welcome home' would only really be appropriate had he signed for New Zealand Warriors.
