The kicks to the corner is too aussie rules for me.

Of course theres high skill but too see it as a finishing play time and again in a game is boring me.

And it just means no place for smaller outside backs.

Also the arm wrestle of constant repeat sets.

I think theres 2 rule changes that would lessen their impact.

1 When you kick the ball forward the ball either has to hit the ground or the opposition before you can regather.

2 You only get 1 repeat set from a drop out. No consecutive drop outs.

I would like to see less time wasting in the game too.

3 Video ref 1 min max then handed back to ref if no decision.

4 30 seconds max on the clock for tries and kicks.

And finally Id like to see the last play rule put back - if the balls in play when the hooter sounds its still game on until it goes dead.

We should get the full 80 mins I hate tight games that finish 60-90 seconds early because that jeopardy has been taken away.

I agree as long as all your team are behind the ball play it where you like. The other proviso for me is that the tap restart & tap penalty should be as it was in the 1960's you placed the ball on the floor played it forward with your foot then picked it up & played on, it makes it a skill & a risk so making it a judjment call as you are risking a knock on & loosing the ball.

Ok as it stands if the ball goes dead, everyone as to be set, the offence/defence/referee/TJ.

I think they should bin that, as soon as that ball reaches the 20 line and is tapped that player regardless of anything should be deemed to be able to play on, if the defence is offside when they try to affect a tackle then that's a penalty. Any of the offence that was offside at the tap should be deemed offside until the first tackle is made.

The defence dont have to be set, just the offence. It is a controlled restart so the Ref makes the decision to allow play to start but as long as the offence are set the play should start. If the defence are offside at this point it is a penalty. But refs should let play restart as long as he is ready and the offence is ready.

Okay, fine keep conversions and the number of points for tries from kicks the same as tries from passing plays.

But interchanges should be reduced to 8, and the number on the bench to three, teams more and more are putting 4 forwards on the bench; IMO there should be a law whereby only 2 recognised front row forwards are allowed on the bench.

It's not rugby union. We don't have recognised front row forwards. We have players who often play in one position. There are players who are on the borderline of positions. What if a club brings on a second rower but plays him at prop? Plenty of second rowers have spells of effectively doing props work. Unenforceable without significantly changing the game and is unnecessary.
Same goes for 8 interchanges from 3 players. All this will encourage is less diversity in players and more focus on fitness and percentages etc. No space for a Feka type prop or a Burrow type half on the bench.

10 from 4 is about right. If we want more game breaking players on the bench then reducing the opportunity to have one on the bench isn't going to help. We also (NRL included) need to start producing some more.
