| By the end of this world cup I will have been to 13/28 games and I must admit this tournament has re-ignited my love for the sport.
As a Wigan fan, even though last year was a season dreams are made of, I found myself picking and choosing some games, even though I am a season ticket holder.
It's great to see 70k+ at a semi final, a sell out for the final, sell outs for the England games, 14k+ on a blustery night in St. Helens for Aus v Fiji, 10k+ at Leigh & Halifax for Tonga v Cook Islands & Tonga v Italy respectively. Sell outs in France. What a tournament, I'm now seriously considering a trip to Aus in 2017 for the next world cup!

| Quote gutterfax="gutterfax"They promoted the 83K game as a world record attempt...... I believe they git 38k the year before that game and 44k the year before that.....so no, not a massive drop, just a change in emphasis. NB; Bloke that marketed the 83k game is employed for the Big Hit....he's also CEO of Melbourne Storm now....bloody unionite eh
Wow....the LV cup....that's the equivalent of the Challenge Cup right?
2013 CC ....2,434 average for round 4....4,497 for round 5 and A whopping 5,722 for the Quarter finals you want to bring up the attendances in the early rounds of the 2nd tier cup in England which currently averages 8,120 ....EPIC FAIL
Saracens know how to market games. I suggest you go to B&Q......buy some wood......build a bridge....and get over it!'"
Are you a union man/boy? That would explain a lot. How's your dividing everything by 2 going?

| Some agreeable facts about this World Cup...
- it will have the highest ticket sales and the highest average attendance of all the modern era World Cups;
- it will have 2 of the top 3 crowds in the glorious history of our 14 World Cups;
- France's World Cup crowds are their highest for 30 years;
- the attendance for Wales' first game was the highest for any home international;
- the average for games among the founder members will be higher than any other World Cup for 50 years;
- it will have the highest attendance for any World Cup or indeed international in the history of the game;
- it had the highest crowd for a home Ireland game;
- it had the most sell outs of any of the expanded world cups; and
- it had more 20,000 plus and 5 figure crowds of any World Cups...
I am sure there are more, but it's none too shabby.

Yeah great, but how does that compare with Union?
These facts mean nothing unless compared with another sport apparently.

| Ticket maps been updated:
looks as though some corporate seats have been released for general sale. Block 542 on the upper tier is also now open, but they haven't coloured it in yet.

| Lets hope the corporate returns are low as all the hard work of making the crowd look fantastic is wasted as the camera is focussed around that area for large parts of the game, personally I would take all the corporate reruns and give them to our armed forces around the area asking them to wear uniform

If I can just add a point, would it not have been better to open ALL the 1st 20 ish rows in the top tier as opposed to have everybody on 1 side ? Some people will have tickets to the back row while the 1st row is empty on the other side.
The only upside to doing it their way is so they can close the concourse bars / toilets etc - but keeping them open would mean smaller queues and therefore more sales ..... surely ?
Also, then we wouldn't have a whole stand empty !!!!
