| Quote Sheldon="Sheldon"There's about 15,000 season pass holders in Hull, combined average attendance of around 19,000, half price tickets available.
Both Craven park attendances were poor tbh.'"
Hull KR's average attendance is around 7000, about the same average of the two World Cup games, having been at the game the majority of the fans in attendance where Hull KR fans. Maybe more could have been done to entice the other Rugby League supporters in Hull to attend the game, not sure what though, as the prices where reasonable - there wasn't much build-up to the game in the local press which maybe have entice a few more.
For Hull KR fans, the teams on show, particular PNG contained a few players who could be playing for Hull KR next season, so it was an early opportunity to see how they performed.

| Quote Starbug="Starbug"Given Hulls distance from other fan bases and the fact that New Craven Park can be freezing in July, I dont think criticism is fair in this case'"
Well two of us made it from Warwickshire.
And all this talk of whose supporters were there - it was bloody freezing! I had my Trinity shirt on under a fleece and a coat and I didn't see a massive number with obvious club colours showing. How anybody can make any judgements about the number of HKR, FC or any other club's supporters is beyond me. Oh hang on - it's a VT thread!
The main disappointments of the night for me were a) PNG not turning up and b) being sold two bottles of beer for £6.80 but not being told that we couldn't take them to our seats!

| Within 10-12 miles of LSV, you have Warrington Salford, Wigan and St Helens who are all Superleague Clubs.
Within 10 - 12 miles of Hull KR you have Hull FC. The closest other Superleague club Castleford which is approx 50 miles away.
Apart from Hull itself there are no densely populated areas within 40 miles.
Leigh has all those SL clubs mentioned plus Manchester on it's doorstep so you could say that for a 12000 capacity stadium in Leigh, anything but a complete sell out is poor.
BTW for those who use the train links to Leigh as an excuse, Hull KR's ground is further away from a train station then LSV

You could also say, that as there are games at Wigan, Saints, Wire, Rochdale, Salford & Manchester, the competition for tickets for people in Lancashire was much higher than in East Yorkshire. So to get massive crowds at all the games so far is a great acheivment, not only for the towns involved, but the County as a whole. Also you could look at Derwent Park, in Workington, who achieved sell outs in two games, Cumbria is not what one would consider 'Densely Populeted'.

| Great crowd, are you forgetting it was on Guy Fawkes night ?
(for what it's worth) slagging off crowds at Craven Park is a bit daft, the 2nd game there was always gonna be lower.

| Quote Sheldon="Sheldon"The idea was for Hkr fans to get behind Png, they have a good connection through Gene and 3 new signings as well having a new stand opened.'"
Hull KR fans DID get behind PNG,
I was at both games, and the majority of people there, were Rovers fans.
Shame more fans from OTHER clubs didn't go!!
The attendances were maybe disapointing but certainly weren't poor.

| I'd suggest the Hull KR (and Hull in general) fans have nothing to defend here.
Don't take the bait.

| Hull RL fans aren't to blame, but the wider Humberside public either haven't been enticed or haven't embraced the world cup in the same way as other town's general sports fans have, so the city doesn't deserve more than one game next time.
Why are KR fans taking that personally?

| Quote roversmad="roversmad"So HullKR fans have let the side down wirh attendances have they? It's a good job 24,000 Huddersfield fans did their bit last Saturday then isn't it.'"
That's not even nearly what I said. But if Bristol can attract 7200 fans from a starting point of practically 0 Hull should have attracted bigger crowds with a much stronger base to start from.

They were poor attendances, the rest I agree with.
