Quote: Dally "Actually there is a theory that category 3 are your gold-dust - high performing people who don't buy into the corporate bull because that's what it is - but want to do a good job for themselves and the businesses' customers. ie people with integrity and standards who are not sheep there to please weak ineefectual middle management but people with their own drive and creativity. These are the people to be harnessed not people who pay lip service to the corporate ideal because they are generally just two faced with no integrity or loyalty. All this American business school nonsense you spout is short-termism that is destroying many big, successful businesses who built reputations over a century or more. The British banks and chocolate manufacturers being obvious examples.
Is bull your stock-in-trade?'"
I was 'managed out' of a company because they identified me as a '3' ..... Basically, the company I worked at for many years (150 yr old engineering firm) was taken over by an over-ambitious gang of BS merchants, who loaded the company with debt and gave me the instruction to "use any method available to maximise short term revenues from clients". When I refused and stated that could only end up in the destruction of client/consultant relationship and eventual demise of the company, their answer was simple - They had no long term plan; they intended to get what they could and move on ...... I was forced out, the board took huge salaries/bonuses, and within 3 years the company was bankrupt, putting 2000 people out of work!
Maybe Hock (and I really, really, don't like the idea of him being me
) has simply pointed out to Mc that his plans are BS and wont work!
