Quote Horatio Yed="Horatio Yed"No, by that i mean the grade is 0-1 match ban, early guilty plea, fine only.
But yes i agree he should be cited within the rules of the game.
On an old school level Ablett was a softcock but that's a seperate issue.'"
Oh come on, take the wire specs off. How can you say ablett is a softcock when he laughed at briers.
Within the laws of the game according to the RFL website, it's a grade C - [i Punching - sustained, repeated or violent[/i
At very very very best it's a B. Listings for B are as follows [iA-B Reaction to opponent - lashing out
A-B Punching - self defence
A-B Punching - one on one - minor[/i
It can't be classed as reaction because ablett didn't prdouce any fowl play for it to be classified as such. It can't be classed as self defense because ablet had his back turned and did nothing to briers.
It wasn't one on one because ablett took no part.
Now look at grade C, punching and sustained.
Briers threw multiple punches from behind so it's grade C. Which is 2 to 3 games. I'd be happy if briers got 1 game, but taking into account he wasn't sent off, not even sin binned if he get's out of this without even a ban it's a complete farce.
For you to even suggest a grade which allows him to escape with no games shows your bias.
Also, last season in the first playoff game leeds played wakefield. Towards the end of the game leuluai threw a few punches at peter fox. The squared up to each other and leuluai got a one game ban and missed the next playoff game. This is fact. For punching the briers incident is higher up on the grading because of the cicrumstances.
If briers doesn't get banned at all it shows how poorly our game is currently being goverened.
