The Widnes following of 50 were having harmless banter with 5 or 6 close Wakey fans but the lad in a white shirt kept getting a bit touchy feely with them, he probably didn't mean any harm but in the end there was a bit of shoving and pushing and a few blows exchanged, seeing the lad outnumbered a nearby fan wearing an old blue away replica shirt ran in with a huge haymaker, the rest is history.

Yet again Key Security could have prevented the flare up, half of the Northstand were watching events unfold why not the stewards? There was a smaller incident amongst the Widnes fans 15 minutes or so before the brawl so why didn't Key Security position staff there after like they did at the Hull FC game after trouble had flared up at the exact same area. They have been asked to come forward and give any info they have as far as I read it - they have not been asked to give themselves in to the Police.
