Leeds 9021
Wakefield 7705
London 4471
Wigan 7852
Catalan 5205
Then 3000 on Saturday, I know some of the games had good travelling support but after getting 5205 against a team with no away support to then getting 3200 with some support shows how annoyed the fans were.
A few wins and hopefully a good appointment and the fans will come back.

| Daryl Powell - has done well at Featherstone but his experience in SL is limited and didn't go well. Coaching one of the best teams in their league would be very different to coaching a team starting at the bottom. I would be willing to give him a go, but perhaps our situation needs SL experience?
John Kear - Has the SL experience and is Cas through and through. Won two challenge cups with unfancied teams, and also made a grand final. Saved Wakefield from relegation and took them to the play-offs. I'd be happy with him.
Phil Veivers - didn't really cut the mustard as head coach, we need someone with some success behind them so they have credibility when the walk into the club.
Brian Noble - Would be the best appointment. Has proven his ability with different types of teams in different situations. Won everything with Bradford, took Wigan from the foot of SL to two consecutive elimination play-offs and then took Crusaders from bottom to play-offs. Just what we need, but he is likely to go to Salford where he will have much more cash to spend.
Brian McClennan - dream on.
Daniel Anderson - dream on.
Justin Morgan - Never rated him. Always seemed to be moaning and made some very dubious signings in his time at Hull KR.
Jon Sharp - Not sure, he seems to know a lot about the tactical side of the game but perhaps not a strong enough character to really command the dressing room.
Paul Cullen - Talks a good game but to be honest I thin he just makes most of it up on the spot.
John Stankevitch - isn't he banned from RL at the moment? An enemy of the RFL who we could really do without!
Karl Harrison - The opposite of Jon Sharp - would demand respect from the players but always seemed a bit weak tactically and only had one game-plan.
Brian Smith - dream on.
Mike Rush and Keiron Cunningham (did well at Saints) - they are Saints through and through and got the best out of the players through their passion for the club. They wouldn't be as effective elsewhere.
And to throw in a couple of others:
Mark Aston - worked wonders with a Sheffield team who really were at rock bottom. Has probably still got a better kicking game than anyone in our squad, he might be able to teach Ellis how to kick properly.
Stuart Raper - took over our team when we were bottom of the league (where we are again). Signed fantastic players and got us to a game away from the Grand Final. I think we finished in the play-offs every season. It is said that he ignored player development, but that was hardly a priority within the game as a whole at the time. Other coaches have hardly done much better, I can't think of many players who have come through our system and going on to set the world alight.

| Powell might not be a bad shout. ALthough I argue with Leeds fans who - IMO - tend to overrate his performance at Leeds, I think he's always had the attributes to make a good coach. His time at Leeds was just too soon.

| I think Stuart Raper is a very good call.
Not sure what he is doing these days but his coaching career ended too soon at Cronulla and Id love to see him back coaching again.
Did a good job at Castleford and at Wigan.

Never scared to make some hard decisions though. With more experience more of those decisions are likely to be the right ones.

| I'd have Stuart Raper back along with Adrian Vowles, Brad Davis and Tawera Nikau.

Unlucky, He will be at Wire next season for a fee thought to be around 300k. Leeds were interested, But not in paying a fee.

| Quote JEAN CAPDOUZE="JEAN CAPDOUZE"Milward has won quite a bit of silverware over the years. Wasn't he at Saints when it went "wide to West?" As I recall one of his previous firings was for foul language, not poor coaching.
How come no one else gives him a chance when he is working with an inferior squad compared to his time at Saints and Wigan?'"
The team he had at Saints was packed with internationals and only had one serious rival for honours (Bradford). That team could have won trophies with anyone in charge, it coached itself. He left that job 8 years ago. He has won nothing since. (Same happened with Shaun McCrae who had been a success at Saints)
When having to lift a team from mid table he has failed miserably on both occasions. He took Wigan from mid table to bottom. He took over Cas who under Terry Matterson had been mid table and challenging for (and sometimes getting) a playoff spot and took them from mid table to bottom. 7 wins in nearly 40 games and only seeming to get worse as this year goes on, I'd say Cas have given him enough of a chance.

Rush stated last year he didn't want the saints coaching job on a number of occasions. He has a much more secure job in their youth development so probably won't be a head coach anywhere. Cunningham is probably being prepared for the Saints job in a few years time.
