Quote: bren2k "They're different campaigns.
The Sky ad is to promote their coverage of the upcoming SL season and I think it does a good job; two of their big sporting brands alongside one another, with no northern stereotypes or the usual big hit montage set to a soft rock soundtrack. I wonder if they'll follow it up with ad's featuring other celebrity fans of the TGG?
The Rugby League of the Extraordinary campaign was an RFL initiative to promote the product itself - I thought that was very well done too and I hope they follow it up with more of the same.'"
Well put: I hope they persist with 'the Rugby League of the Extraordinary' for a long time to come because I think it's a very workable template to vary upon. The best advertising campaigns are the ones that evolve over time from a good premise and I hope that this is ours.
On the Wiggins one, I found it really well done, well timed and an interesting departure from the norm of not-so-great highlight packages put together a bit too quickly.
I hope the trend of improving advertising (at least centrally) continues!
