| when salford goes pop.......nobody should replace them..
and when we decided the teams for the next round of franchises we should only have 10 teams in super league
1. london
2. catalan
3. wigan
4. st helens
5. warrington
6. huddersfield
7. bradford
8. leeds
9. hull fc
10. hull kr
in terms of super league we need to go back to basics, fall back on our strengths and rebuild.....

| Good sensible post that Spud and although London isn't "our strength", in some warped way it probably secures the Sky deal. A ridiculous situation but nevertheless a necessity? They stick out like a jellied eel on a plate full of Yorkshire puddings. Anyway, too much good work has gone on at grass roots level to abandon the area for good. It certainly looks a strong league, including the bouncebackability Bulls

| The fact we dont have anybody anywhere near ready to replace them tells us how weak we are as a sport, a major shake up is required both at RFL and club levels
The Franchise farce has resulted in clubs owners looking at ways to ' tick boxes ' rather than genuinley grow their clubs, and the RFL have colouded in this nonsense as well , just to make the sport look stronger than it is, and to justify their decisions
Its time for Mr Wood to go, and Mr Rimmer with him

With the structure that is in place for the Championship and its lack of sponsorship, there will never be the option of "swapping" a SL club for a CC club.
However, its all about success being rewarded and somehow the top club in the CC, deservers their chance.
Having said that, it is far from straightforward as the gulf between the two leagues, especially in terms of revenue is possibly too big for a promoted club to prosper.

| If sl stays at 14 clubs then the gulf between the top of the championship and the bottom of sl wouldn't take all that much bridge.
Its obvious the standards have dropped in sl ,so a good coach and the right decisions in the market, and they would be able to compete quite easy now'

To accept that the current structure of the Championship is unable to produce a potential SL club replacement is to completely right off the sport ( although I would suggest Mr Wood did exactly that with his pathetic " A worth winning in its own right " speach followed by an absense of anything liable to make it so ) outside SL, and a direct result of that will be a decline within SL
With nobody to replace ' Failure ' the RFL have no choice but to keep putting their hands in their pockets and bailing out the clubs that will not build being stuck at the bottom of a league with nothing to play for

But compete where jc? , I have no doubt Leigh,Fax,Fev and possibly Sheffield could put together a squad to finish bottom 2/3 in SL, but then 2/3 years down the line you end up back to square 1

Competing with the bottom 7 not bottom 2 or 3.
By the end of the season was there that much difference between wakey and widnes?

we need london....and catalan.......to give the league credibility end of story...otherwise we might as well just go back to the lancashire & yorkshire leagues
and as you say in a round about way...theres more to london being there than just fans turning up to watch them...to much work has gone into them to abandoning them..plus they actually don't warrant being kicked out, sure they don't bring many fans...but on the pitch they've never finished bottom of SL and have averaged 8th place since 1996....so they are in my 10 team SL on merit.

But a well supported competitive London would be a massive boost for RL in this country, so at the advent of Licencing they should have essentially been taken over and marketed to death, yet another failure by the RFL
