I had it as a very close three way vote between Hodgson (only player who did anything unlike his team-mates....16 points, often isolated in play so stands out more, and that hit), Myler (really put in a top performance), and Westwood (but very often players dont get recognised for doing what they simple do every week....100% commitment). The winner wasn't a surprise, the margin of the vote was.

So none of the rest of the Wire team actually did anything in the match?

What I meant was they ALL played well, they ALL gave 100%, they ALL can hold their head up high. So how do you pick the winner......"well Hodgson did get knocked out and then got up, carried on and scored"........"unlike" as in unique, as opposed to in contrast.

One off things at finals can get you recognised.

Surprised Lee Briers hasn't been mentioned, I thought he was superb and ran the show (blatent knock on aside)!

I wonder who's decision it was was Huddersfield not to offer him anything more than a 1 year deal.

I had Myler as MoM, and I'd never really been a big fan of his.

I thought it was Westwood or Hodgson. I thought Westwood was tremendous yet again

It wasn't a knock on and I really can't understand those confused by it. It clearly went backwards off his hand and then bounced forwards off the ground - that is not a knock on. Just as a pass that starts off backwards but drifts or bounces forwards is not a forward pass.

From the rules: "If the ball is passed correctly but bounces forward or is blown forward by the wind, there is no infringement and play should continue."
