so just because sam tomkins is by far the best player in the league he shouldn't win the player of the year award? I see where you're coming from but it seems a little harsh

Lee Briers and Brett Finch have been vital to Wire and Wigan respectively

Tomkins doesn't have a god given right to win. He has been on of the better players though. For me Scott Dureau has been superb and would get my vote. Tomkins & Hock have also been great at Wigan. I also have been extremely impressed with Paul Aiton.
