| As a Cougar Fan, it has to be the Carl Metcalfe era 96 - 99, it was the end of Cougarmainia the destruction of all the hard work that had been put in place by the board, turning the club around between 91 - 96.
You would think winning the league in 1995 with the deciding match being a 104 - 4 demolition of highfield, would be a massive high for the club, and initially it was but then the RL to decided;
"no promotion for you guys, that london team that you absolutely destroyed during the playoffs this season would be a much better fit than you, try again next year, we are relagating some teams out of division 1 in readiness for Super League."
We finished 2nd to Salford the following year, and met them in the playoff final which again we lost and this time the RFL said hey Keighley guess what, you didn't win the league this year and if you had you could have been promoted like Salford, well the good news is that we are promoting 2 teams this year, the team that finishes top and the team with the nice new ground!!
So in 96 Salford (quite rightly) went up and Huddersfield (finishing 3rd) went up, but they had just finished their first season in the McAlpine/Galpharm.
At some point in 96 Mr Metcalfe got involved with the club, I remember bumping into Mick O'Neil, Mike Smith (the club directors) and Mr Metcalfe outside Old Trafford before the playoff final against Salford and Mick introducing me to this cowboy. Anyways he took over the club with the promise of £3 million which never materialised and in 99 he stripped the club of everything, sold all the players and put the club into admistration. (this is the bit now where I really have no sympathy for the plight of Bradford this year!)
To put the icing on the cake and really stick the boot in, there was an article in the Telegraph and Argus news paper with a comment from Mr Caisley stating, that Bradford should be able to pick up a few nice bargains.
The club are still recovering now, but I am very happy to say that it looks like the club is making a massive effort to get back to the good times and Jason Demetriou should be massivley applauded for the work he has done at the club and long may this continue.

I don't think Leeds and saints have ever been relegated.

| He's almost right, Warrington are the only team in British sport to have participated in every season of the sports top division.

86.jpg Let all the doubters keep doubting and those who believe keep believing.
We’re only interested in those in the bubble. Anyone who wants to come in the bubble, you can come in.
But you’ve got to keep believing.:86.jpg |

Yeah Leeds and Saints weren't invited for the first season when the first top flight was formed in 1902 or 1903 but speedily found their ways there before it was abandoned again shortly thereafter - so they've never been relegated as such.

Monitoring outside for the people inside: |
|
| Think the correct claim to fame for us is that we have never played outside the top flight. I believe that Saints played in a lower division years ago.
The worse I've felt is after a CC semi defeat at Maine Road by Wigan (Lydons long range drop goal). Coming out and realising that no-one could compete with a full time big spending Wigan.
Low spot for the club was the home defeat by london that saw off Anderson and where Rodwell and his missus got stick leaving the ground.
