Correct, he did say that. Obviously without considering that our first choice FB had gone home, 2nd choice was injured and 3rd choice was playing stand-off. I suppose we could always have thrown another 18 year old at the game, just to please Clarkey.
I'm still at a loss as to the problems with player development in Hull though. At amateur level we can produce players that can more than hold their own against the best that the West Riding, NW Counties and Cumbria can offer but something goes redically awry once they enter the pro-system
