If you allow shoulder charges, things like this will happen from time to time - the only way to stop it would be to copy Union and ban shoulder charging.

Apart from the fact you've already estabilished, through the medium of high def, high speed photography, that there was no shoulder involved. In this case you'd have to outlaw strikes to the chops with a fuzzy elbow/, and thats already been done.

A poor attempt at a shoulder charge, like the one Chase made would make an excellent case for outlawing the shoulder charge because there are players who don't know how to do it properly and in a manner which can be considered safe.

It was a bad challenge, it was probably accidental but people like to think otherwise and there was no elbow involved. The only thing I've said is that there was no elbow involved, not that he should get away with it.

He will get a ban for it because of the nature of the challenge (high tackle) and the damage it caused, it really is that simple.

It shows very little. Had you taken a still from that video just one second later you would have a perfectly blurred picture of Chase's forearm in direct contact with Ropati's face.
