| Quote Kosh="Kosh"They failed to kick Hull out of the CC because the rules didn't allow it.'"
Yes they did. There was no automatic expulsion but the RFL had the power under their own rules to apply any sanction as they saw fit.
They decided not to expel Hull even though that is what would have happened in every other sport in those circumstances and indeed is what the RFL themselves decided to do in future should anyone repeat Hull's error.
The RFL = Kings of Expediency.

The RFL should be issuing No Comment.

Where did they say they made a profit of £1.5m?

| Quote Starbug="Starbug"If you are as clever as you sound you will realise they didn't OWN their stadium , they had a lease on it , and also they had massive borrowings against that lease , all at the time 9 months ago when they were declared a ' B ' franchise , when in effect they were millions in debt with no obvious way of paying that debt or of financing 3 seasons of SL'"
I'm speculating.
It was reported that the RFL bought odsal for a market rate and rented it back to them at a market rate.
Then a few articles have mentioned a lease being bought. Its very confusing.
I think the council are the freeholders. RFL own the stadium and Bradford a lease to use the stadium for home matches from the RFL.

| Quote littlerich="littlerich"Jokes aside, if anyone comes to the next match with "buckets for Bradford" i will be the first to dip my hand in my pocket. We've been there and faced the jibes from some fans of other clubs but then when you can't sink any lower you see other fans turning up and donating. We had a bus load of Warrington fans pop in on their way to a night match - all to do their bit. Whilst i may bay for the blood of The Teflon twins at Red Hall i do not share the same venom towards Rugby League fans.'"
And I repeat;
Quote littlerich="Redchemic"

Although as somebody else has mentioned, I'd keep my hands in my pockets until somebody tells me where the cash has gone in the past!
We were in the same boat a few years ago and much to our appreciation, many fans of other clubs helped out but this happening to a seemingly sound club has a lot more questions than answers hanging over the story.

They are quoted in one article I read as saying turnover is £3-4m with operating costs around £2.5m. Whether it's £.5m or £1.5m, I fail to see how they are realising such cash losses.

If its the T&A article then it says £3-4m turnover and £2.5m wage costs not operating costs.

Your forgetting the big bucks Bradford spent to become the Bulls. They started with very few good players, an average gate of 5,000. They bought early success on borrowed money. That money is now long term debt, some but I suspect not all of which was paid by the sail of Odsal. Due to running such a credit hungry business Bradford have been living off an overdraft for years. An expensive and risky way to borrow. Eventually any bank will look at this and decide that the situation is not sustainable will attempt to salvage what they can by winding the Bulls up. Banks are preffered creditors and after the Tax man gets first dibs on whats left.
The operating costs and turnover has to be factored into the fact that Bradford's overdraft will take every penny of the SKY money every season before they just manage break even and they are probably not alone.

| Bradford are spending the full salary cap. Lining beyond their means. Disgrace. They must off load therir highest earming players and at least make an effort to balance the books. If they knock say £ 500,000 of the wage bill by selling these players on the cheap then I think the board would be showing a pragmatic approach, rather than the previous style.

| I'm sure Bradford haven't been spending anything like the full salary cap for the last three years? So I doubt that they've been spending over their means in terms of player salaries.
The financial repurcusions of the Iestyn Harris saga has hit Bradford hard.
