Certainly the Englih teams would be busting a gut, to be able to play their Aussie counertparts, dont know if the Aussies would be quite as enthusiastic ?

it needs to be at the end of the season. the likes of mark riddell last year and danny buderus this year both missed out playing in the wcc because they had moved back to AUS. Whereas Darrell Griffin is now a world champion when he hasnt even won the league!

I've done a mock up of the current season to see what an extended 8 team WCC could look like, I know there isn't a 4N's planned for the end of the season but it shows it isnt difficult.

Great idea, but the travel part of it would always be a big issue.

Was going to say about having the same number of teams and matches in both comps, then two weeks after the GF world club challenge (1v1)
But we have the challenge cup which for me is a better final than the super league (venue wise, weather wise and atmosphere).

Still if its the same number of league games (plus I suppose they have their extra origin games) it would be a fair WCC at the end of it all, Possibly held at a nuetral venue, ideally somewhere hot and luxurious offering fair packages to get a big number of fans.

Although I would love to see our top 4 competing against their top 4, I think only the winners deserve the WCC title shot.

why not have it every two years with the top 4/5 from each competition and rotate it with the 4 nations.

Your probably right, but I think the 2 governing bodies are looking at ways to expand the "concept", so what would you like to see/ think will happen ?

I must have missed the incredible strides the domestic game has made in the UK during the Super League era since 1997 which transformed the competition and the clubs themselves into bona fide world beaters.

In fact, I'm sure there's at least five or six current Super League clubs who are just as good, if not better, than the top NRL clubs during the month of February, when fixtures are played solely in the UK and it's the NRL off-season.

I'm not a big Hetherington fan (to put it mildly) but he talked a lot of sense on Boots'n'all this week. Top 3 from each comp play off over a single weekend. I'd rather see that than the Magic weekend. The point he makes about exposing more British players to that standard of competition is a good one too, in terms of giving them more international experience.
