Paul Pottinger in this article misrepresents the good relationship rugby league has built up with rugby union in recent times. For Example Leeds Rhinos ground share with Leeds Tykes, Salford could be ground sharing with Sale Sharks and London Bronco’s used to ground share with Harlequins. Heck we even they was even a rugby union journalist (Tim Groves) in the last issue of forty-20.
Of course my favourite collaboration between rugby league and rugby union was Leeds Rhinos sharing a training session with England RU in 2005.
Finally I’d like to think that the majority of those good intentioned souls that support either code would like to see both codes grow. If we both grow then that’s better for everyone all round because it means more fun and a better way of life for more people as jobs will be created on the back of that growth.
