This is excellent news. I can certainly see the Super League of the 2021-23 licensing period shaping up as follows, with a 'Groningen Magic' weekend in early May-time
you could probably count the number of dutch RL players on one hand.
Yet by making this list, you're saying that Rotterdam will have a stronger bid than Bradford in ten years...

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing

There isn't and they wouldn't.
Unfortunately my guess would be that this is a dodge by Sparta Rotterdam FC to get the council to fund their new ground and they will be looking at hockey, Baseball and RU also before considering RL.
It would be great if it happened but believe me there is very little interest in the game here. Check out the official Netherlands RL site for confirmation. Last updated in 2009.

On the contrary, I think it's great that Super League has the best interests of the game at heart as it endeavours to expand beyond the umbilical cord otherwise known as the M62. It has an unrivalled record of providing sundry Aussie jackaroos and south sea islanders with the opportunity to contiki-tour their way around Europe on the grog before they return to Bondi and the surf.
Situating SL clubs in places like Rotterdam makes it a lot easier for them as a starting point, once they get bored of London and completed their cultural rites of passage here. Anyhow, there isn't a Whinos-supporting Smokey TA type on this entire planet who would select places like Leigh, Fev and Wakey when they can book a long weekend break in exotic places like Rotterdam, Wrexham and Bristol instead.
