Total supression.
No destruction.
Anyone getting into bed with Rugby Union and then spouting about how it is good for my game,the game I have followed and loved for over 50 years are only doing so for their own personal gain.

The days of touring sides treating the Barbarians game as an excuse to throw the ball around and have a bit of fun are dead and gone. He'll be spending most of the game looking up into the sky watching high kicks raining down on him then getting trampled if he does catch one.

He'll hardly get trampled, normally its only one person chasing a kick, and that is the kicker. If he plays an Ashton type role and wanders infield then he could have a lot of joy

Why dont you admit to not being current on Union. Do some research on the Aussie back line and how they play the game. Historically and currently they are weak in the pack and rely on the backs skill.They have some brilliant backs

Tomkins will be getting bombed more in league next year given his performances against NZ and Aus recently

Rugby union is in chaos at present, so why league should be giving them any positive publicity beats me. I am old enough to remember when union players used to play under 'A ANOTHER' on a league team sheet to avoid a life ban. Stuff them.

Indeed - it could be argued that IL has shown a significant degree of naivety by allowing his starlet to be associated with a sport that looks like it's about to implode.

RL may not have much of a media profile, particularly amongst the old boys network at the BBC, but quite frankly, I'd rather we never got a mention at all than were talked about in the way that Union has been for the past few weeks; the image of drunken, public school rugger-buggers has had an almost total resurgence and coupled with the stories of an inept and incompetent governing body and an international set-up that appears amateurish, corrupt and self-interested, the code is facing a huge crisis.

Let Wigan get dragged down with them I say - the rest of us should stay well out of it.

As I said before the only winners are lenegan, the RFU & Tomkins to a lesser extent. There is absolutely no upside for RL at all, the RFL should have not sanctioned this & IMO are weakening the sport as whole by their own actions/inaction.

What might not have been a sell out due to the poor display at the union world cup, it's almost guaranteed with the amount of publicity this has drawn up. Whatever the fees paid by the RFU to IL/ST they will have been paid for a few times over already.

Dont see the problem with it at all. Great publicity for all concerned.
