| Improved goal-line attack and defence, getting rid of silly errors yet still playing expansively, and luck/rub of the green from the ref will all be needed - plus the Aussies being overconfident.
The goal-line at both ends is key. We have to be able to pressure Australia when they have the ball, and be more effective at the other end.
I can't see past an Australia win. They are still a long way ahead in execution of plays in attack, and yet less likely to concede points through dumb errors near their own line. It would be massive for international RL if we could do it, and we have a slight chance, but I think Australia will win.
On a side topic, suggesting that the retirement of the likes of Lockyer will be a relief is rubbish. Australia produces quality new players every year, and we've been saying for years that things will be different when X or Y is gone. That's the difference - we haven't had a genuine class halfback since Goulding for example, Australia have produced probably 5 or 6 great players in that time. The same is true across the board. What's in our favour at the moment going forward is that we have some outside backs of actual quality who are also young, with more coming through. That's a huge change.

| Exactly mate, it's a shambles that I haven't seen any other sport do.
Ridiculous.

| Ru have had this problem before, with different interpretations of rucking causing a problem between Northern and Southern hemisphere.
Football is a simpler game so less interpretation needed, but still the diving is handled differently in other leagues to the Premiership.
Not just us, its just we change ours way more than other sports so plenty of opportunity to get ouit of sync.

| Again though, just because Australia wants to change something why should the whole world go with it. Australia doesn't rule RL and thats where the problem lies in this regard. Yes we know the NRL is the biggest and bestest league evaaaaaa but folks in the UK, France, USA shouldn't have to jump to your tune always. FWIW I actually prefer some of the NRL changes and interpretations, especially 10 subs

NRL expansion? Sometime soon, maybe......:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_9857.jpg |

| NRL has 2 refs and the tackle/play of the ball is a massive mess compared to SL's. 2 refs do not improve the game imo.

| Quote: Jonesy "Maybe if the rules between SL and the NRL become the same rules and interpretations and then they are made the International rules it would help the Referees be consistent.
Its a total cock up at the moment with no one happy.'"
Totally agree Jonesy.
On top of that. I do get a feel that here in Oz, the refs are far more happier to refer a decision when it comes to something serious by option to put things on report rather than be bold and make a decision.
