What on earth gives you that idea? I'm guessing you haven't been on a train recently. There are now more people using trains than ever before. Many train routes suffer from massive over-crowding due to the big increases in passenger numbers in recent years. The fact the railway is so busy during the week means many engineering works need to be carried out at the weekend.
