It was a terrible decision to take the two. Saints were comfortably on top at the time and you'd have backed them to get over with six tackles on the Wigan line. So instead of taking a good chance to go 12-6 up they took the two and as a direct result ended up 12-8 down.

We all said the same. They were rocking when we had the ball at that moment and looked like we could get another. Stopped our momentum.

That's just speculation. Wigan's strength for the past two seasons has been rock solid defence. Last year it was the most miserly in SL. This, second behind Warrington's. In the four games leading up to Saints' first victory the team had been repelled time and time again in such positions (even with multiple sets of six). I see no solid evidence to suggest a good chance of a try. Indeed, if history is anything to go by the most likely outcome was Wigan defending their line.
