So every single coach in Australia is far superior to his English counterpart because...
what they know magic tricks? They know the game better? They have secret societies that when they go to England they don't pass on any coaching knowledge that may be different onto English people by using a mind wiping technique. etc. etc.
Australia has far more talent in far greater depth, that's the simplistic answer to your 20 year argument. Even aussies that have played in both countries will tell you that. Nothing to do with coaching. Or did people like Tommy Bishop and Malcolm Reilly teach the aussies how to play before that when they coached over here? In fact, we have a drill in Oz used in conditioning called a Malcolm, which was introduced to Oz by Mr Reilly himself. Even most aussies may not know this was named after him.

| It’d be good if the RFL could get your up and coming stars to play in the NRL rather than possibly lose them to the RFU. Would strengthen the international game and give us a stronger NRL too.

mal reilly was 20-25 years ago....thats my point
i've likened the fact that are best players are being coached at club level by simmons, mcguire & nathan brown and then going on england camps with McNamara to a 'A'level maths student going back to learning that 2+2 = 4

But why is the perception that those australians are better coaches? Put one in charge of say Hull KR with the same team as they've got at the mo and if they don't win the title can we question their coaching qualifications?
As an expat over here who helps out at an NRL club, it really gets to me when people attribute a "super" tag to a coach, simply because they are australian. We continue to perpetuate the concept of them knowing more about the game.
For me, it's back to the thread now of seeing more youngsters taking a year off and chancing their arm over here.

That's a good idea sir. Maybe clubs like Leeds who are meant to have a connection with Souths may have the opportunity to send a couple of kids for one year to play in Toyota Cup if they could. I suspect that one of the things they may notice is they'll match it with their aussie/kiwi team mates and help build the psychological element that they've been told about aussies having better coaches, or being better etc. etc.
