| Quote Odemwingie="Odemwingie"That is not a normal situation in Poland though, that is especially for Euro 2012 so they have gained extra funding which wouldn't normally be available. This is all from the clubs and councils. A slightly different situation.'"
No, not really. Since they're being shared with Ukraine, there are only 4 Euro stadiums in Poland. That leaves 15 stadiums being constructed/redeveloped by councils. Either way you look at it, it trumps SL by some margin.

That is a joke, moving the temporary stand. It should be scrapped. When Rovers got promoted to Super League, that was only supposed to be in place for a couple of years. How the RFL can give a franchise to a club with a permanent temporary stand is laughable'"
Would you prefer to watch the game from the existing South stand then?

| Incidentally how many of these clubs own the grounds.
A rugby clubs only real asset is it's home, and sadly many have cashed in to become tenants.
I'm not saying that's wrong, perhaps in modern RL there is no need to own your home, but I do think it's a little sad.

It's not sad , it's potentially disastrous , you cannot run a pro, semi pro RL team on one revenue stream ( fans through the turnstiles ) , so any club not owning/running their own stadium has real problems , I include the likes of Huddersfield , Hull , Salford , Widnes in this as well as the Championship clubs
I would suggest this is the reason Cas are so against sharing a council stadium and are doing all they can to actually fund and build their own , as that is the only way they will ever be in position to challenge the big teams

| Quote Hear Ye!="Hear Ye!"I agree...the days of p*ssing against a metal sheet at Saint's have finally ended!!
With regards to Salford, looks (unless I'm mistaken) that a couple of the stands are only one tier...maybe its budget restraints, but I'd of thought that if you're building from scratch they could have made it a 20,000 capacity at least? Still, anything is better than the Willows!
SL standards are defo moving in the right direction now....and franchises have made it happen, for years these clubs have claimed they are going to build these facilities, but before the franchise process, they didn't have the pressure to actually deliver!'"
Salfords stadium is being built with footings in place for another 2 phases of building. Both phases will have an affect on the 3 smaller stands and corners if/when attendances improve. Once the club can show a need for increasing the capacity the next phase will be built. Phase 3 will take the ground to a 20-22,000 capacity.
If you go onto the turkey there are photo's available of the different phases

| It is great that new stadia are being built & that may encourage a renewed interest at some clubs & us fans get a bit more comfort. But will it actualy improve the game or its finances? As by chance I am watching Manly playing the Cowboys from Brookvale oval it is pouring with rain A large number of the crowd are in the open & stood on a grass bank down the far touch line, The league we all seem to be trying to emulate dont seem to think that grounds are the most important thing in selling the game & that ground makes Bell view look palatial. Also how many fans on here actualy would prefer to stand but cant as they are in all seater stadiums. I am lucky that HKR are developing slowly & we have the East stand to watch from & as far as I know the new North stand will be seated but the planed east stand extension & eventualy the south stand (after the tempory stand is replaced) will be standing, I am happy with that.

| Quote Odemwingie="Odemwingie"It will be a while before both are in brand new stadiums unless the join up IMO.'"
That is just simply not true - from either clubs perspectives.
One is awaiting the outcome of a PI to be heard in December, with results due next spring, subject to that the stadium WILL proceed as the first phase of a significant business development.
One is awaiting outline planning for a retail development which would unlock the funding to allow the development to proceed on a site already granted PP for the stadium.
There are different challenges and varying timescales involved, but neither are inter-related and both can stand alone on their own merits - with, importantly, the support of their customers, i.e. us!

Before you go off on one you should read his post again. He said NEW grounds.
PS: You should do some research before making such comments as well (and not always believe ill-informed peers on the Wakey forum).
