Quote: Starbug "Just telling it how it is , at the moment most clubs take no more than 100 fans to any away game at our level , perhaps a similar amount go to Toulouse , I dont think this would increase with a trophy at stake , therefore a final in either country would be poorly attended IMO
As for the benifits to the game , once again I really dont see what they would be I dont think other French clubs playing a handful of matches against Championship opposition would bring on the average French player to any degree , just my opinion , as a fan of a Championship club , your opinion is based on following a SL club , if you want to watch French RL , by all means go to France and watch it'"
You're not just telling it how it is though. You're telling it how you think it is.
I don't think the away attendance is what you should base a competition on... ever. If you think that's what a competition should be based on, then you might as well watch North West Premier next season as the away fans won't have far to go. Two games in France a season if the Final is in England, and if arranged well they'll be back-to-back so that fans (if they wish) can stay for a week and watch both.
As for benefits of the game, it's not just about bringing on the French players (which I disagree, I think exposure to a higher level more often will bring out new and better qualities in players). It's more about club development and exposure.
I don't see why me being a fan of a SL club and you being a fan of a Championship club has anything to do with anything anyway. Does that make your point more valid? It's like them idiot mothers who think just because they have a kid means they know how to look after one more than someone that doesn't.
