Our board is full of conspiracies and that makes us look a joke as much as Facebook groups and talks of petitions. There are weekly threads on the attendances at Harlequins or Crusaders that make us look so bitter (talkign about counting the crowd on Saturday from the TV pictures), especially when you can't post the reality of the situation without being slagged off.'"
All the above is true, but our forum is still an oasis of sanity compared to the loons who inhabit the VT.
As for the original point, I have never seen any evidence that suggests the RFL want us out. They have in fact given Trinity the benefit of the doubt on numerous occasions.
However that's a separate issue to whether Harlequins and Crusaders get special treatment or are worth the effort.
They do get special treatment, this is no secret - you would expect such for a development team.
My gripe lays with London in particular and whether they are still worth the effort - at what point do they cease to be a development club. They are 30 years old ffs and are going backwards and have been for years. No ground of their own and never have had, a subsidiary of a RU club with attendances that simply cannot sustain a club in the long term. Of course all the SL apologist will be on this post telling me how I'm to dumb to understand and how apparently you have sludge in your ears if you don't accept their theory. That is the kind of mind numbing nonsense peddled on here and puts many off joining the debate and allows some utter rubbish to go unchallenged.
For what it's worth what RL needs IMO is a big man to stand up and say RL in London has not worked and looks unlikely to succeed in Wales. Then add from now on we will concentrate all effort in the North of England and the South of France where people actually want the game. We need to leave the egotistical fantasy world we are in at the moment and accept the game we actually have/had and not the one the Walter Mitty's on here think we should have.
I wouldn't mind but I've met very few people involved in/fans of the game who ever showed the slightest interest in expansion - more a bossy bunch of wanabies who have imposed their desires on the rest of us - which is very typical.
I'd love the RFL to poll every RL club and ask the simple question - do you want to expand the game by adding new non heartland clubs to SL - OR - keep the game within it's traditional boundaries and the preserve of traditional clubs.
I don't think the expansionist brigade on here would like the resounding NOI reckon they would get to expansion. However they would quickly re-group and brand the majority as idiots and themselves as the misunderstood chosen ones - that is what fanatics do.
