| Quote: JB Down Under "fair enough but of all the positives in the article you chose to focus on this very small aspect of it and question it, why? As I said he isn't wrong in what he said, but it isn't a true reflection of our support base back then, not that it has anything to do with how succesful a Reds team will be in 2013. I suspect he said it as he is probably as sick as me of hearing ignorant people suggesting the Reds financially folded because of no support for RL in WA.'"
I business people often get sick of being "bagged" by others.....WARL is no different. They just need to keep their heads down, they should be bolted on.
Another part of the article that was "worrying" is this "Since then, we've had nearly 350,000 Queenslanders and New South Welshmen and people from Canberra relocate to WA. We've also had a massive influx of people from the UK, South Africa, and New Zealand".[/i
......relocating RL fans is the No1 problem faced by London RL. TV figures show that 50% of the TV audience for SL is in the South East........yet finding and mobilising them has proved impossible for both the NRL, London RL and even SKY TV themselves......I have no doubt that WA will throw a lot of cash at finding them though....a lot. Might even be an idea to set up an ex-pat fans club..where loyalty is to WA until the fans "home team" come calling?
Still, as I have always said, WA will be in the NRL next.......and that means a minimum of 15 years to sink or swim.
Good Luck.

Meninga Backs WA for NRL Team
Quote: The issue is not about Perth coming back into the competition it's about how you do that, "
Rugby league legend Mal Meninga believes it is inevitable that WA will join the National Rugby League. How it happens is another matter.
The record-breaking former Australian, Queensland and Canberra Raiders captain and Maroons State of Origin coach said the new NRL commission would need to make tough decisions over the expansion that was expected to include a WA Reds side within three years.
Meninga said a priority was ensuring a good spread of talented players.
"The issue is not about Perth coming back into the competition it's about how you do that," Meninga said.
"It's inevitable and it's important that WA is included in any expansion if we are going to be a truly national rugby league.

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| Went to Perth last year and thinking of moving out there end of the year, if they had an NRL that would be great and cure the homesickness.

Confirmed East stand will be stage 1
The State Government has reversed tack on the redevelopment of rectangular nib stadium in East Perth, deciding it will now include corporate facilities in the planned new eastern grandstand.
State Cabinet on Monday approved an increase in the grandstand project's budget to $95.1 million from $88.5 million so extra facilities can be included when it goes to tender later this year.
The stand will include 56 open corporate boxes, seating 420, and a 250-people barbecue terrace.
