Observation (and there are exceptions, like Agar and Matterson, and "wait-and-sees" like Harris and Rob Powell):
The younger, rubbish British coaches (McDermott, Lowes, Cullen, McNamara and others) had long RL playing careers and therefore have rocks for brains.
All the Australian coaches in SL had either practically non-existent playing careers (Maguire, Smith, Robinson) or were good players who had to retire young (Brown, Morgan) and think about and learn their coaching trade.

| I suppose the problem starts with what is the definition of a good coach and once that is agreed and understood you gave a reference point to decide who is brilliant and who is not cutting the mustard.
The question is who creates the definition in the first place?

How many british coaches get their team playing at their optimum on a regular basis?

| Its a massive risk throwing a coach straight into super league. You just never know whats going to happen.
I would like for them to coach Championship first to get more experience.

Oh look, yet another arrogant supporter of a SL club who thinks the Championship clubs exist merely as cheap providers of talent.
Why not cut the teeth (and pay for it themselves) of potential coaches in their own Academies?

| Hull KR at Home
Warrington away
St Helens home
Our next 3 fixtures and if 3 defeats which is highly possible,SHOULD see the end of Agars reign.

| But your PLAYERS are still not that good
You know the old saying, "You can't polish a T***"
If the players were that good, then matter who the coach, they would be "world beaters".
Results say otherwise.

| Lots of Aussie coaches have failed also. Has to be a compariable arguement, as mentioned, Powell did a great job at Fev last season, Calland won the Championship with Fax, Harrison the Northern Rail for Batley.
There will be more examples in the Championship because there's not many Aussie coaches there, I can only think of Millward and Woods?
The stats in SL are slightly worrying though, especially when you look at the most successful coach in SL is Brian Noble who lifted Wigan to a certain level, then with almost the same team, Maguire made them unstoppable last season.
