Cambridge doesn't seem to take most sports as seriously as Oxford, we've got an American Football friendly scheduled to play Cambridge in a few weeks with them looking at getting into the league by 2012, whereas Oxford have had a team for 20 years.

why the hell is this game played on a thursday on cold march night?

Seems like a wasted opportunity to get students/kids and adults involved who have never seen a rugby league game live. This should be played on a saturday or sunday on a summers day.

I know that in Oxford the Trinity term ends in late May/early June with many students having exams before the end of term – I think March/April is the latest we will get this fixture

Forgive my ignorance, what's a full blue and a half blue? I didn't go to uni!

A blue, in the case of these Unis is generally awarded for being picked to represent the combined colleges of that University in a sporting or sometimes academic competition.
A half Blue is just a way of trying to keep the actual "blue' from being diluted.....otherwise they would be handing them out for knitting, Ironing and getting the most posts on a chatroom thread




In other countries, it can be awarded to a student who proved themselves the best at a particular dicipline, sporting or otherwise over the year across the whole country and generally at High School Leaving age.
