Quote: SmokeyTA "So you think a club in the heartlands, surrounded by a strong amateur game is at the same starting point as an expansion club like quins, who have had to create an strong amateur game?
Quins, in terms of spreading the game and getting people playing, have done things Cas can only dream of. They have, in their many guises, created and built a amateur game which now produces international players.
Yes the club need to improve their attendances, 1766 really isnt good enough, but they are playing catch up at first grade level (and this isnt something they will do in the championships) and that is only one part of a very difficult puzzle. The fact is RL in London is excelling in some key and important areas, this isnt usurped by the fact the Quins club are poorly attended.'"
How much media attention does the game get down there exactly? I hardly ever see any of this mentioned on SSN or any other channel for that matter. The fact is that RL is, and always has been a Northern sport and if you don't believe that then find me stastical evidence to say otherwise. The fact is that RL in London cannot compete with the football sides that are around there, let alone the fact that it is a hotbed for RU.
