| I'd never actually realised that the other Championship clubs would re-apply along with the Super League clubs after one successful Championship bid is announced in March. Suppose it makes sense, seeing as any number of those 3 bids could be successful theoretically and more than 1 could come up. I still don't think it's right the RFL guaranteed that one would be up and one down, seems to go against the whole ethos of the licencing system. Surely it should just be the best 14 applications regardless? It would be a bit harsh if the current SL clubs were the best 14 bids yet one has to go.
FWIW I think Widnes will be announced in March and 13 SL clubs to retain place. I will feel incredibly sorry for whoever has to go out. Between Crusaders, Wakey and Cas for me. I can't see either Salford or Quins being kicked out.

well said,it's blatantly wrong to go ahead with the enforced dismissal of one club come what may - each application has to looked at on merit - Widnes deserve a go in SL but should have been there anyway in 2009 - the whole thing is a farce IMO

The thing is , like telling lies , once you start to ignore your own rules , or the truth , you dont then know where to stop
And they have dug such a big hole for themselves , they havent a clue how to get themselves out of it
The only solution will be for them to expand SL to 16 , which will get them off the hook
This however will cost money , and unless the sports main benefactor is willing to pay extra , where will this money come from ? , hopefully not from funds that were going to be spent elswhere ?

| I cant wait to look back in another 6 or so years when were smashing the kangaroos all over the place with english Yoof ripping up the SL with hardly any imports. Franchising is the future.

good idea but it's definitely NOT what the players want !
I still reckon we need two SL leagues of ten clubs each, but that's another story...

you've summed it up in one perfect sentence. I'll be happy to come on here in 5 years time and admit I'm wrong if that's not the case.

Likewise - I have a lot of respect for you generally, but your eagerness to accept everything that you are told from Wheldon Road, despite the failure to deliver on almost every single occassion, is quite astonishing. Sorry!

The same could be said of you. Anyone who states an opinion that is contrary to the club line is dismissed as a nay-sayer and teller of untruths.
I don't know Fully personally but he seems to be a quite reasonable and articulate chap and is not slow to criticise the club (Cas) over its shortcomings.

| Quote Fully="Fully"If all three have stadia of equivalent standard, then yes, Salford should be bottom of the pile. Wouldn't say Wakefield are equal to Cas but that's just my perspective. Cas have better commercial portfolio and better youth to first team ratio. Average on field performance is equal, however, we're more consistent.'"
Fully,
Wakefield are certainly equal to Cas if not better, youth development wise there is nothing to choose between the two clubs, commercially (and I'm speaking with first hand knowledge) Wakefield are streets ahead of Castleford with the much maligned block of flats generating more revenue than just about all of Castleford's commercial revenue put together, performance on the pitch I'm not sure where you get that Castleford are more consistent given that Wakefield have never been relegated from the super league yet Castleford have been, twice! In terms of community work Wakefield are streets ahead of Castleford.
If the Rugby football league take the potential that a city offers over that of a town then Wakefield come out on top.
