In fact I would like to see it made ILLEGAL for any supporter other than a national of the relevant country to wear that nations jersey. It's like earning your jump wings as an Army paratrooper... unless you are qualified to wear them you cant. Same should be enforced with national RL jerseys.

I've thought about this.

It should be country of your birth. I've been caught out a few times in the UK. I've seen blokes (and women) wearing the Green & Gold Australia jersey... and when I've asked them what part of Australia they come from I'm usually met with them nervously shuffling their feet whilst looking at the ground at which point they mumble 'got it off ebay'

Nothing like a bit of policy on the run.
