.......a free end of season holiday...and nothing more.
No one seems to care about doing the important things... ie actually winning games. I cant find the quote but I've read somewhere that Steve McNamara has said the idea to go down under for the 4 nations is 'to have a good time'
Barry McKenzie witnessed first hand the way the England side were in Australia in 2008 during the world cup. I saw members of the team walking around Surfers Paradise making cracks about the women and laughing and joking amongst themselves....on more than one occasion. I personally saw one local threaten to put quite a prominent member of the England team on his árse for making comments about his girlfriend.... pity he didnt. I saw 6 or 7 of the squad (including Tony Smith and Steve McNamara) visiting Australia Zoo in Qld whilst giggling and pushing each other around like a group of prepubescent school girls. Keith Senior was rooting some old slapper rather than doing what he was supposed to be doing...until his girlfriend found out. No wonder he wasn't allowed to go this time

I saw members of the England squad on the trams in Melbourne belching loudly and pushing each other around.
In the past the GB team have spent more time doing the Bridge climb in Sydney and sunbathing on Manly beach than actually trying to win games.
Nothing wrong with any of that.... well most of it anyway....if you are a tourist. God only knows I've done worse.
But if you are a so called Rugby League professional representing your country in what has to be considered the biggest international RL competition...maybe you should be putting more thought into playing the game rather than doing the tourist thing.
Especially when you havent won a trophy since Jesus was in kindergarten
The whole England Rugby League set up needs to have a good long look at itself.
