| Quote tb="tb"You can actually. If someone lends you money, they you're in debt and you owe it them back. If they give you money, you're not and you don't.
Given that the Quins chairman has stated on record that the club has no debts or overdraft … and he's the man who supplies the money to make up the shortfall between operating income and expenditure … I think we can safely assume that he doesn't want the money back, it's not a loan, and irrespective of the operating loss they make they don't money to anyone.
Oh … and citing RLFans posts as evidence of anything doesn't really work.'"
quins are 6.4million in debt or at least where as of the 30/11/2009. that is shown on public record and cannot be disputed,

Well, it's reported as such. Harlequins have creditors > 1 year in their balance sheet of £6,268,283, which are classed as subordinated loans with a note as follows: Loans are provided by DJ Hughes and I Lenagan for the amounts of £4,176,276 and £2,092,007 respectively. These loans are non-interest bearing and subordinated behind all other creditors of the company.

They can do that, of course. Providing they never want to field a team in a rugby league competition again …

you are aware all current SL clubs gave written agreement stating they wouldn't challenge the decision of the licensing in 2011 and wouldn't challenge the decision on losing their franchise.
any club who did challenge the ruling would not only lose a large sum of money going to court, but also laughed out of court!

| Good good. Now if they can see sense and stop thinking about promoting one of those awful, hill billy Championship clubs we can move on with our (Slightly less than) Super League.
I just don't see progress in adding Widnes and removing another team of very similar stature. Where is the benefit? Geographically they are the worst placed, they aren't good on the field and their crowds are only going to be slightly better. The RFL needs to think further ahead and put proper plans in place, involving really well thought out franchises. The whole point of SL was to establish franchises and ensure stability and progress, swapping and changing the also rans isn't anything like progress.

Please forgive me for my comments but I think anyboard would say that to keep the turnstiles clicking the signings wakey have made are below there usual standard and not big earners but like I say thats my opinion

| I assume that the guarantee of promoting a Championship side was only valid for this rouind of franchising? That may mean no return is possible for whichever club loses out. If that is the case, and the team to lose out is one of Cas/Wakey, would it not make sense (at least for the club facing the chop) for them to consider a merger?
I'm glad someone from the RFL has stated what some on here clearly want to deny, that Quins are very important to the game as a whole. I suspect that part of this process will expose the fact that one or more of the clubs looking at a new ground has absolutely no hope of getting there.

I refered to morons. YOU refered to Wakefield! You clearly have a low opinion of your fellow supporters.
It will be Cas or Wakey going down. Rimmer will make sure facilities and sound finances are given considerable weight. Clubs who have a record of poor finances and no guarenteed backing will be highly vunerable.

Widnes are capable of becoming a club the size of Warrington. Not exactly a disaster if that happens is it? When Widnes get in SL it gives every club (like mine) outside SL the glimmer of hope that if you do things properly off the field, you get rewarded for it. And your point about how poor Widnes are on the pitch isn't really valid, they pretty much played with their reserves for the first half of the season such were the injury problems and they will win the championship by a mile this year.
