| Firehouse Subs has partnered with the Atlantic Cup to provide lunch for the teams during the week of events and they will also be the presenting sponsor for the Nov 16 press conference. Being a nationally recognized brand that is based in Jacksonville, their support helps tell the global Rugby League community that Jacksonville and the USA is ready for international Rugby League events.
Firehouse Subs has become the presenting sponsor for the Rugby League Atlantic Cup Press Conference that will be held at 12 noon on November 16. It will take place at the Days Inn on Atlantic Bvld in Neptune Beach. Event organizers called the partnership "massive news" as not only will this provide first class food and service for all those in attendance but it is another Jacksonville based company that is supporting the event. "Firehouse Subs is a nationally recognized brand and having them as a partner shows that Jacksonville is ready to support Rugby League events," said Spinner Howland. "This is a company that prides itself on quality products and operations and that is exactly what we are trying to show the world that Jacksonville and the USA can do with big events. We can host world class quality events for the players, teams and fans and we are ready for big International Rugby League events to consider us."
The press conference will consist of all three teams, City and UNF representatives and sponsors as well as any interested media. Lunch will start at 12 noon and will quickly be followed by a panel made up of players, coaches and sponsors who will take questions from all attending media. "With no less than six members from international media having already confirmed travel to Jacksonville for the event and players from across the USA and two visiting countries, it is pretty cool that we are able to provide such high quality food to them from a Jacksonville company", said Drew Slover from the Axemen. "This is a company that stood up and said this event is good for us and good for Jacksonville! Between Firehouse Subs, the Hotels of Jacksonville and the other local support we have, how can you not see that this city and the USA is ready for Rugby League?"
The press conference is open to all members of the local, national and international media.
In addition to the press conference, Firehouse Subs will also be providing lunch for all three teams as well as the visiting officials and broadcast crew during their week long stay in Jacksonville. With players being on nutritional plans during events such as this, the high protein, carbohydrate and low fat values in many of the options on the Firehouse menu, it is a perfect fit for the lunch time meal.
Firehouse Subs now has almost 400 locations in 22 states and with some of the major international tourist destinations like Orlando and Las Vegas included in that list, this event is a great way to get the Firehouse Subs brand into the ears and eyes of out of state and overseas visitors. "Rugby League fans have a culture of being loyal to companies who support the sport. There are plenty of fans from the Rugby League powerhouse countries like Australia and the UK who visit Orlando and other Florida cities as well as Las Vegas each year", commented Spinner Howland. "I would feel pretty confident saying that after learning of the support from Firehouse Subs, many of them will find time to seek the location closest to their hotels or travels, in an effort to say thanks for supporting Rugby League in the USA."
Firehouse Subs will also be on location during all three Atlantic Cup games and details about possible coupons and prizes will be coming soon.
