| RIP waste of such a young life, as a Bulls fan i love to see great players who are commited to the Bradford corse, Terry filled both catogeries and came to us as a straight replacemeant to the great James Lowes, not an easy act to follow! But he fullfilled that roll seemlessly, sadly he didn't get that super league ring he so much desired and that was the failing of the Bradford club and not him!
Once a Bull allways a Bull
Deepest condolences to his wife, kids, parents and friends!

Any person with a modicum of common sense or RL knowledge could clearly see that there was far more to Terry’s nal than just playing dirty.
He often overstepped the mark on the field, but no one can question he was a very gifted RL player.

| As a former amateur player myself, I've always believed what happens on the field stays on the field. Almost every single one of the above posters would have only ever seen him on the field, and hated him for both his talent and his dirty tactics.
For all we know he could have been the nicest person you'll ever meet off the pitch.
RIP

| Terry was a great player and had his heated moments on the pitch like a few however to label him a druggie is abit strong by some on here imo!
He didnt go robbing houses, garages etc he didnt stand on street corners begging for what i am aware of ?
Heartfelt sympathies to his family no one should feel that alone that they need to take there own lives RIP

| Like him or loathe him as a player, one of the Rugby League fraternity, who was an integral part of our sport at the very highest level, has been lost to us in tragic circumstances. He was a hero to thousands, he was a villain to thousands, but that was on the pitch, and that ultimately does not matter.
RIP Terry.

| Quote michael.hooley="michael.hooley"I cannot believe the sheer hypocrisy of some of the posters on this forum, who over his career have called Terry some of the most offensive names I have ever heard.
R.I.P Terry and God Bless

Or, some can see the difference between what goes on during a game and real life. He was the type of player the fans loved to 'hate', that is acompliment to him as a player, ordinary players don't get noticed. I saw the hurt in Terry O'Connors face on Sky on Sunday and I can only believe what he says that Terry was a nice guy off the field and one who would give everything for you on it. I have met a few players who would be seen as nasty on the field and have been absolute gents off it, one was actually shy when you mentioned hsi playing career.
I don't think its hyporisy at all, its the realisation that a man who we saw many times play and probably called hell out of, but are genuinely saddened to see what has happened to him with his ban and utter turmoil he must have been in to have taken his own life. I know that for myself I was sick to the pit of my stomach when I heard the news and wondered if collectively the sport of RL had let him down when he was most in need.
RIP Terry.

| Oh no Rover, you're quite wrong. If you have issues about a player's on pitch behavior you really have no business regretting his death.

| Very sad about his death.
There are some interesting and controverial points that are made about Terry. Anyone who has played sport at any kind of level will have played with and against people that they disliked the way they played. Off the pitch is a completely different issue and the sporting rivalries are often and should be left on the pitch.
Terry was a bloke with a family who had lost his job. I've obviously seen him play, but I didn't know him so fo me its just a very sad loss.

I was tempted to leave it (and now will) but I can't believe you're still on here Rommel - even if you have slightly diluted the cr@p you were spouting yesterday. Of course nobody deserves to die, but that's well accepted by anyone with half a brain cell, and is not the point of this thread. So what is the point to your posts?
We're here simply to pay tribute to a man who was a committed and exceptionally skillful Rugby League player, whom according to those who knew him best, and played alongside him was a thoroughly decent bloke. Perhaps you get some weird kick out of spotlighting the handful of times he made a bad judgement call but please don't bring it here. And certainly don't try and disguise it as you having an ounce of compassion or decency.
