No matter where the London SL team is based, there will always be a 'journey" for fans to get to games.
Twickenham is served by at least 12 trains an hour from London and a the same (or more) number coming in from outside the area.....then there's [url=http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/gettingaround/maps/buses/pdf/twickenham-2271.pdfTHE BUS ROUTES[/url into Twickenham....there is the North London Overground Train that runs from Stratford to Richmond.....
some people aren't happy unless there is a tube station directly beside the ground
Harlequins Rugby League will start their 6th season in the same ground in 2011. This will be the longest period that the club, in it's SL guise, has stayed put. The problems with attracting crowds has nothing to do with where the club are based, or their tie-in with the Union lot.....people will say that the "brand" gets lost or muddled and the average sports fan mistakes us for a Union team......I say EDUCATE THEM.......don't up sticks AGAIN.....don't change names AGAIN....stick with it and throw some money at the problem.
The ST offer of 99 quid is brilliant.......but pretty useless if you don't tell anyone other than the 2,000 who bought one last year and the other 1,000 who roll up from time to time.
