Last time there was a thread on this I was told Widnes have thousands more fans than the other championship clubs. What's happened to them all? Coming on the back of a sp following at Leigh as well.

Worrying times for the Widnes franchise bid.

I will get crucified for this but Widnes's crowds have been dropping in general for the last few years, They love to crow about being the best supported club outside SL, and they still are, for now.

The Widnes sporting public have been spoiled by having top class RL to watch on their doorstep in fairly recent times however the recent times show less and less of them want to watch Championship RL, They seem to want to dine at the top table or not at all.

If they dont get offered the next franchise there crowds will plummet further, dare I say to even behind the plebs like Fev or Fax, Barrow or Leigh.

Widnes were there for the taking tonight but we were sadly one dimensional and very ordinary and Widnes seemed to want it more which is upsetting.

Why is a Salford fan obsessed with our attendance figures? Can anybody answer this? Does anybody care?

The Championship is on the verge of collapse surely? I don't understand how they can even maintain the stadiums with the crowds they get down there.

is it surprising with seemingly nothing to play for? Take a look at the crowds of the equivalent in Oz, NSW cup and Q'land cup are lucky to get 1000, and some get a 100.

If there was automatic promotion (not that I agree there should be) and Widnes were challenging they would be up around the 3,000 I'm sure.

Considering it was a mid week tv game (ok which is all the tv we are likely to get) and its school holiday week ( not that you brobably think any of us can afford a holiday) for our position and Leigh we are holding our own at the moment, what genuine fan would expect more?

Let us all crow... (not many of us do) although you seem to give us the right to at the moment, being still the best supported club out side of SL (for now) I recon we are almost at the hard core support level, who would watch their team what ever league we were in, and I would like to think most fans would find you refering to Fev Fax Leigh or Barrow as plebs quite unnecessary and unworthy in my opinion this is a very equal and competative league and give credit where its due.

Widnes fans do not crow about crowds. You, board after board, forum after forum, post the same tired nonsense about the club and then you get corrected, you move on to post the same tired lies elsewhere. We address your points about crowds and how apart from last season our crowds have not been far off previous seasons and you go on to accuse us of "crowing". It's not if we're responding to you and your b.s.!

You make it sound like our club is facing oblivion, that our crowds are drastic. Yet YOUR crowds have gone down significantly too, DESPITE you winning the league only last season! You also often make out your youth setup is not far behind ours at all, which is nonsense and you know it. Tonight was a semi final to a cup so season ticket holders had to pay, it was a thursday night on sky and the team has been on a complete downer because of injuries and losses so fans are somewhat sceptical about short term form. What are your excuses? For the drop in crowds, the lack of Barrow youngsters in your team? The fact that for reasons completely unknown Henderson hasn't played for a while? Your stadium? You make it out like our license applications will be similar, whilst they couldn't be further apart.
