Most of the pubs country wide who will be showing one of the 4 Premier League games that will be televised simultaneously at 4pm that afternoon.

Double header, day before when their are no major 3pm kick offs would have been a better idea. Even one of them kicking off early evening would have been better.

Putting up a far less well supported sport in direct competition as has been done is either sheer idiocy or a sly attempt to post a very low viewing figure. The latter would allow RL to be continued to be labelled an M62 sport and would seriously affect interest from other broadcasters for the rights. Thus allowing anyone bidding to get the rights for a lower price.

The reasoning for putting the sunday tie on 2 hours later than it would normally be broadcast when this puts it in direct competition with something that will easily beat it ratings wise surely should be questioned. Why didn't the BBC opt for a double header and give both games a fighting chance of attracting more than a pitiful audience.

The reason for it is because they have the Spanish Grand Prix on BBC One at 1pm.

Perhaps they could move the game to 8pm on a friday like they do for the six nations games?

There is no reason not to play the game as an early evening KO on the Sunday, massive carry over of sports fans looking for something other than Spanish footballers falling over.
