1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

| Just watching Manly put them to the sword. their team, and coach for that matter looks like they have been put together on a shoestring.
I appreciate Newcastle have never had the cash like the Roosters, but even so it looks a bit of a cheap team.

| I don't think you can say that from one performance....think they had a couple of players missing but with a full strength team they have plenty of firepower, big pack and the likes of De Gois and Mullen pulling the strings, and Gidley and Sau in the backs.
Just think it was an understrength team having a bad day at the office and Manly playing well.

| newcastles finances are poor
they dont have a leagues club to fund them so it always a struggle
the stadium is getting a new grandstand done so that helps
that is the team brian smith put together. thats his way. he likes cheap imports that he can develop
they made the finals last year

The Knights are gonna make a play for Thurston for next year, they want 2 marquee players and have lined up Thurston, Mateo, Finch and Luke O'Donnell who are all off contract this year. They've got 8 players coming off contract themselves including big names Steve Simpson, MacDougall and Cross.
Thuston needs to go somewhere to win a premiership IMO and the Knights isn't the place, Dragons, Dogs, Eels, somewhere like that. Knights are just like the Cowboys, struggle to make top 8 never mind win it.
