A fictional character developed from a comic strip in Private Eye magazine for the big screen by Barry Humphries (who you would probably know as Dame Edna Everage).

They made 2 movies (Barry McKenzie holds his own / The Adventures of Barry McKenzie) both of which starred Barry Crocker as Barry McKenzie.

In a nutshell 'Barry McKenzie' was a pom hating ocker type who came to England and saw exactly what it was like here. The movies, although designed to be 'tongue in cheek' were written by Humphries and loosely based on his own experiences of living in Pommieland in the 1960's

And as an Aussie over here in the 'naughties' I can confirm Humphries experiences of England are more accurate than most of you would care to believe!
