Of course they are, there is a big event in town and it is a bank holiday in Britians second busiest tourist city, you don't expect them to slash prices on one of the first busy weekends of they year do you?

Yup, they are. But if you'd booked earlier then you'd have got cheap prices, same as Ryanair or Easyjet, the busier they are the more it costs. The date has been known since the last one and confirmed months ago.

You could have booked two nights for less than the price of one, again you'd have to book early.
Cheap prices were available, many here have got good deals, just because you didn't act quick enough doesn't make that untrue, people are not gonna hang around waiting for you to book you've got to get in first to get the good prices. The same applies for any other city, in fact Cardiff was worse for hotels.
