Salford and Crusaders' presence there looks shakey for a kick off.

It's old hat now that one I am affraid.Widnes have come a long way in 2 years and are now in good shape.You will have to find a different stick with which to beat us.It's history,this topic is about the present and a rumour that a new SL franchise need bailing out after going tits up themselves just 12 months into a 3 year licence.

As with many others from championship clubs I think this news produces as range of emotions. Fax were not ready last time so that was never an issue. What really pee'd me off was the preference shown to teams by the RFL purely on the basis of location. That kind of blind optimism without any sustainable basis, or the presence of a plan B just proves what short-sighted, egotistical morons run the game.

However, the most important thing here is the potential demise of a club and as a dyed in the wool RL fan that makes me very sad. Personally, despite a chequered history in Wales I think RL does have a future there. I am actually for putting a Bridgend based team back in championship 1 as I do think there has been a lot of good work which should not be lost to the game. No doubt mssrs Lewis and Wood will look to put them back in SL as soon as they win their first game, but lets hope they will have been replaced by real businessmen by that time.

Sometimes its best to admit you were wrong and move forwards with an alternative plan. Forget saving face, just do the sensible thing. Unfortunately the RFL or bust mentality makes that highly unlikely. Despite previous trolling cru, good luck and I sincerely hope you have a team to follow into the future.
